You know that song, “No Sleep Tonight” by The Faders? I have that stuck in my head, except instead of “No sleep tonight, you won’t get no sleep tonight” the lyrics are “No place to live, you ain’t got no place to live.”
Last night I went out to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory with the family. Mizithra cheese is definitely on my list of things I will miss. Oh, and my family, but they can visit and it is a lot harder for cheese to travel.
After dinner Dave and I, my sisters, their SOs and my mom went to Psycho Suzi’s for some tasty rum concoctions. I have never gone drinking with my sisters (or my mom) before, and as the photos of all three of us wearing eyepatches attest, we had a good time. Two drinks at Psycho Suzi’s apparently carry as much of a punch as six at a normal bar. I was a little loopy. It could also be that I am a lightweight and pretty much only drink one drink when I go out. And I only go out a couple times a year. But still.
I’m still searching for a place to live. A promising lead ended up costing more than my mortgage … literally. Unfortunately, that is not within my budget. It would have been nice, though. Now I am scrambling for something — anything — that will be remotely reasonable with a six month lease.
The new wardrobe thing is going pretty well. I went shopping with my littlest sis at the Albertville Outlet Mall yesterday. We discovered we are shopping compatible, which is awesome. But would have been MORE awesome had we discovered that a little earlier instead of four days before I move. There are some good deals up at the outlet mall, though. I got two pairs of pants, two sweaters and two blouses for $100 at Gap! Plus the cutest winter boots ever for $15!
So that’s what’s new with my crazy life. Dave took today and tomorrow off, but he’s a little rumbly in the tumbly so I don’t know what we are going to do. First priority: find a place to live. I’m not enjoying the thought of living in a box, though I have heard good things about refrigerator boxes so I guess that’s an option …
Until then … may you get “No Sleep Tonight” out of your head now that I have planted it there. Mwahahaha!
